The inspiration for 120% Lino began in Camden Market, London. It is a 1940’s vintage white linen sport coat, extremely pleasant, soft and perfectly fitting.
It was the complete opposite of the designer linen garments proposed in many designer collections at that time: jackets in yarn or piece dyed linen with a stiff and formal aspect that when dressed poorly fitted with pleats.
“We started working to get the same nice look, researching the most suitable linen materials in different weights and yarn qualities, deciding to name the collection 120% Lino, to transmit the message of… something more. In my office I still have a white linen blazer, which reminds me of the initial inspiration to create something new from something of the past.”
As I reflect on 120% Lino archive, these images recall the sophistication that I set out to achieve over 20 years ago, a linen collection that captures the elegance of linen perfectly suited to sportswear and formal pursuits.
120% Lino enjoys a strong international resort presence with luxury consumers, in addition to our South Florida and St. Maarten stores, Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton relationships – it is our relationship with Organico Showroom and new US customers which I am most enthusiastic about:
- Edit – NYC, NY
- Ikram – Chicago, IL
- Linda Dresner – Birmingham, MI
- Marissa Collections – Naples, FL
- Wendy Foster – Santa Barbara, CA
I look forward to meeting at Organico Showroom and exhibiting at Coterie, selectively growing our U.S. distribution with established retail partners, specifically shop in shop development; 120% Lino offers a unique proposition: full price retail sales from cruise – summer with monthly deliveries.
